How is mobility changing?

How will we move in the future? Few things shape our lives as deeply as travelling from one place to another. Simultaneously, mobility patterns are becoming more intricate and complex: the demand for safety, health, a pristine environment, and quality of life is growing. Digitalisation is becoming the cornerstone of future mobility: it must be need-oriented and make life simpler and safer.

Mobility with a future.

To prepare for the future, the VCS completely revamped its communication channels in 2024. Station supported the VCS on its journey towards future mobility, contributing with ideas and considerable foresight, making the club ready for a digital and connected world. The starting point was the outdated website, which consisted of over 4,000 pages in three languages. Usability was restricted, maintenance was costly, and quality assurance was difficult.

Less is much more.

In the first step, Station assessed the relevance of the content for various target groups using artificial intelligence and data analyses. Important pages were identified, laying the foundation for the clear information architecture of the new website. This resulted in a revised structure and a clear design, making it easier for users to quickly find the desired information: campaigns, projects, and member acquisition.

Flexible in the future.

The VCS's goal was clear: the website must support the VCS's mission, address its target groups more effectively, and thus generate sustainable growth – particularly concerning membership numbers and transactions. To achieve this simplicity and flexibility, Station utilised Craft CMS, a powerful content management system. Craft CMS supports multilingual content and the management of multisites "out-of-the-box". Moreover, Craft Commerce and various subsystems were integrated to offer a range of products and optimise the management and retention of over 100,000 members.

Safe and sustainable on the move.

The "Mobility with a Future" project was developed by Station in close collaboration with the VCS team and selected partners. Thanks to the agile methodology, the project team was consistently able to respond promptly to changes. It was crucial for Station to provide a prototype to all participants early in the development process - through numerous iterations, it was subsequently optimised to meet the needs of users as well as the VCS team. Conclusion: The VCS is prepared for the mobility of tomorrow.
